About the job

Build and maintain Cloudflare’s Chromium-based Browser Isolation system, including browser features, distributed services, and reliability and performance improvements.

What you'll do

  • Deliver scoped features from design through testing, rollout, and production follow-up; develop Chromium and distributed-systems code.
  • Debug browser, Linux-host, and distributed-service failures; improve reliability, startup time, latency, and resource efficiency using measurements.
  • Write maintainable code, tests, and design notes; collaborate in reviews and participate in on-call after onboarding.

What they ask for

  • Practical C++ proficiency, including understanding memory ownership, resource lifetimes, and concurrency.
  • Linux/UNIX fundamentals, including processes, threads, networking, and system-diagnostic tools.
  • Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Ability to debug systematically, navigate unfamiliar code, and test correctness and failure cases.

Nice to have

  • Experience with browser engines, Chromium, sandboxing, security-sensitive systems, or low-latency streaming and real-time systems.
  • Experience with orchestration, Rust, Go, TypeScript, WebRTC, Skia, WebAssembly, WebGL, observability, incident response, or build and release infrastructure.
