About the job
Provides technical leadership building and operating distributed scanning services that collect security data for cyber insurance underwriting and attack-surface management.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, deploy, and improve scanning-engine services and architecture.
- Optimize scanning systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and production SLAs; troubleshoot complex issues.
- Partner with security, product, data, and infrastructure teams, and mentor engineers.
What they ask for
- Senior-level software engineering experience (or equivalent) with backend or systems-level services.
- Proficiency in Python or Go and willingness to work in both.
- Experience designing distributed or high-availability services and building or maintaining scanning, detection, or similar high-throughput systems.
- Experience in cloud-native environments and end-to-end project ownership; strong engineering fundamentals and code-quality practices.
Nice to have
- Cyber security domain knowledge in scanning through endpoints.
Pay
CAD $149,600/year up to $199,600/year base salary (Alberta, British Columbia & Ontario); CAD $134,600/year up to $184,600/year base salary (all other locations)
