Designs, deploys, operates, and scales CoreWeave’s global optical backbone, coordinating optical infrastructure with the IP backbone.
What you'll do
- Design, commission, operate, and troubleshoot long-haul, metro, and data-center interconnect optical systems across dark fiber.
- Plan capacity, optical paths, amplification, wavelength allocation, monitoring, and automation; respond to incidents and analyze root causes.
- Work with IP engineering, fiber providers, carriers, data-center operators, and vendors; establish engineering standards and mentor teammates.
What they ask for
- Hands-on production deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, lifecycle, and operational support experience with both Ciena and Nokia optical platforms.
- Strong dark-fiber experience, including characterization and acceptance testing, loss budgets, ILA site design, OTDR, route diversity, and fiber troubleshooting.
- Deep knowledge of DWDM and optical transmission, including coherent systems, C-band/L-band, amplification, spectrum planning, and optical performance metrics.
- Significant hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating large-scale production optical networks.
Nice to have
- Multi-vendor optical environment experience; IP networking knowledge, including backbone architectures and routing technologies.
- Python or another programming language, and experience with automation, APIs, network telemetry, or engineering workflows.
Pay
USD $165,000 to $220,000 base salary
