Fits and welds steel structures by interpreting blueprints, laying out and positioning steel, and verifying that finished work meets specifications.
What you'll do
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to plan and lay out steel structures within specified tolerances.
- Position, align, secure, cut, and weld steel parts and assemblies using hand tools, machinery, torches, hoists, or cranes.
- Measure and inspect work to verify it meets specifications while following safe work practices.
