About the job

Build and operate the control plane and Rust virtual machine monitor for isolated computing environments used by AI agents.

What you'll do

  • Implement services and APIs that create, schedule, and manage Machines, including durable state and recovery.
  • Improve the Rust VMM and runtime, including virtualization, guest memory, devices, Linux I/O, startup, snapshots, and recovery.
  • Investigate and reduce performance costs, and design secure interfaces and communication paths.

What they ask for

  • Strong Linux internals knowledge and ability to investigate memory use, concurrency, syscall costs, and failure behavior.
  • For control-plane work, strong service implementation in Go, Rust, or a comparable systems language; for VMM work, hands-on Rust and low-level systems experience.
  • Recent hands-on work demonstrating learning, adapting, and shipping.
  • Security-mindedness and clear technical communication.

Nice to have

  • Depth in filesystems, storage engines, databases, or distributed systems; formal specifications, model checking, or proofs.
  • GPU infrastructure experience; interest in AI infrastructure and systems research.
