Director, Product Design

What you'll do

• Lead and grow the product design team; set and uphold design quality through critique and personal craft.
• Partner with product, engineering, design engineering, and the design system team to deliver clear experiences for technically complex products.
• Shape the team’s use of AI tools, with human judgment guiding the work.

What they ask for

• Experience leading a product design team of comparable size through change and growing designers from mid-level through senior and staff.
• Close partnership with design engineers and engineering leaders, with the ability to engage in technical decisions affecting user experience.
• Hands-on product design skills, including prototyping and detailed critique of spacing, states, motion, and copy; show work from the last year.
• Daily use of AI tools, with examples of use and judgment about when outputs need improvement; experience designing technically complex products.

Nice to have

• Led design for AI-powered or agent products, including experiences beyond a graphical interface; designed for developer-led adoption and complex enterprise customers.
• Can prototype in front-end code, such as React or TypeScript.

Pay

$206,500 – $295,000 USD base salary
