Design, prototype, assemble, and test mechanical hardware, taking projects from initial sketches through production-ready drawings.
What you'll do
- Model mechanical assemblies in CAD and create production-ready drawings for sub-assemblies.
- Spend 30–50% of time assembling, modifying, and repairing designs; use 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining for rapid prototypes.
- Design test fixtures, test hardware to failure, and coordinate with machine shops and suppliers.
