Own the PLC controls for automated drill rigs, from designing logic and integrating safety systems to commissioning equipment in the field.
What you'll do
- Architect and program PLC logic for drill sequencing, safety, mixing, motion coordination, and rod handling.
- Commission and debug control systems on physical rigs, including wiring checkout, I/O validation, and drive tuning.
- Collaborate across engineering teams on integration, alarms, recovery routines, HMI interfaces, and field support.
What they ask for
- 5+ years programming and commissioning industrial PLCs, with hands-on Siemens experience (TIA Portal, S7-1500, or equivalent).
- Deep familiarity with IEC 61131-3 languages, especially Structured Text (SCL) and Ladder (LAD).
- Hands-on machinery commissioning experience with hydraulics, servos, and safety interlocks.
- Strong knowledge of fieldbuses and industrial networking; experience tuning closed-loop systems.
Nice to have
