About the job
Develop firmware for current and next-generation Pod hardware, from sensor integration and hardware bring-up through production deployment and fleet support.
What you'll do
- Integrate sensor technologies and collaborate with hardware teams on prototypes and production designs.
- Improve firmware testing and deployment standards, tooling, and processes.
- Work with manufacturing in China to develop tests and deliver quality products.
What they ask for
- 4+ years of software engineering experience focused on firmware in C/C++ and client or test tooling in Python or NodeJS.
- Experience developing for compute-constrained, low-memory environments; creating peripheral drivers and communication protocols; and working with DMA.
- Experience launching and maintaining large device fleets, monitoring telemetry, and delivering OTA firmware updates.
- Read and interpret data sheets and schematics; willingness and ability to travel regularly to China.
Nice to have
- Bare-metal systems and low-level task management, including environments without traditional RTOS.
- Wireless communication standards, automated testing and observability, and embedded security practices.
