About the job
Defines the technical direction and builds Elasticsearch’s core search infrastructure, including indexing, retrieval, query execution, and relevance capabilities.
What you'll do
- Lead and contribute to the evolution of core search and indexing capabilities, from technical design through delivery.
- Research search infrastructure, data structures, and retrieval algorithms to improve system efficiency and capability.
- Set long-term technical direction, collaborate across teams and with product partners, and mentor engineers.

- Strong Java skills and familiarity with advanced data structures, concurrency constructs, and newer language features such as lambdas.
Nice to have
- Experience in search and information retrieval, including the constructs and theory behind it.
- Experience with open source projects and familiarity with source control workflows and continuous integration.
Pay
€80.400 — €127.200 EUR base salary
