About the job

Design, test, and support rugged mechanical systems that house sensing and compute hardware for field-deployed robots, from CAD and prototyping through production and servicing.

What you'll do

  • Design mechanical structures, sensor mounts, enclosures, ingress protection, and thermal-management solutions within mass and volume limits.
  • Create CAD models and simulations; prototype and test systems for mechanical, thermal, ingress, and sensor-alignment performance.
  • Support manufacturing, QA, integration, and field debugging; produce drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.

What they ask for

  • Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent mechanical CAD platforms.
  • Familiarity with FEA and thermal modeling tools.
  • Experience with rugged hardware design, manufacturing workflows, mechanical testing, and cross-team systems integration.

Nice to have

  • Experience scaling prototypes to production or developing systems for harsh field environments.
  • Experience with deployed robotics or reliability standards such as IP ratings or MIL-STD.

Pay

USD 28–63 per-hour-wage (base salary)
