About the job

Develops and deploys geometric perception algorithms for robot calibration, localization, and mapping, supporting autonomous robots and downstream autonomy systems.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement calibration, localization, and mapping algorithms for quadrupeds and humanoids.
  • Develop tools and metrics to validate and benchmark subsystem performance; write maintainable C++ and Python code.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate and deploy algorithms into real-world systems.

What they ask for

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with expertise in calibration, localization, and/or 3D mapping.
  • Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, probability theory, numerical optimization, 3D geometry, Lie theory, and 3D kinematics; experience with state estimation and sensor fusion.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art LiDAR-inertial and visual-inertial odometry and SLAM algorithms; experience with sensor calibration and time synchronization.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, plus understanding of ROS and experience designing, building, and deploying ROS nodes in a complex robotic system.

Nice to have

  • Publications and/or patents in calibration, state estimation, odometry, and/or SLAM.
  • Experience with noisy sensor measurements, computationally constrained platforms, real-time algorithms, or additional sensing modalities.

Tools

C++, Python, ROS, LiDAR, radar, doppler-LiDAR, GPS
