About the job

Conduct an owned research project in robotic manipulation and robot learning, developing and validating capabilities on physical robots for reliable performance in real-world deployments.

What you'll do

  • Develop and test manipulation skills across tasks, objects, environments, and robot platforms, including on physical robots.
  • Design experiments to measure success, generalization, and reliability; use deployment observations and failures to improve systems.
  • Document and present results, contributing to publications or reusable research tools.

What they ask for

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s or PhD program in a listed or closely related field.
  • Research experience in robotic manipulation, robot learning, embodied AI, or a related area, with a substantive research or open-source track record.
  • Strong foundations in robotics, machine learning, and experimental design.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++.

Nice to have

  • First-author publications at listed venues or journals, or significant open-source contributions with demonstrated adoption.
  • Experience taking research to reliable physical-robot operation or evaluating robots outside controlled labs.

Tools

Python, C++

AI focus

Research and develop robot manipulation and learning capabilities, including skill transfer, uncertainty handling, contact, changing conditions, and failure recovery, validated on hardware and in deployments.
