Staff Software Engineer, Metadata

What you'll do

• Lead complex projects and design, build, and own Metadata services and subsystems.
• Set technical direction and engineering quality standards; review designs and mentor engineers.
• Improve reliability and performance, manage incident follow-through, and participate in on-call.

What they ask for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leading complex team-scope technical work.
• Deep expertise designing and owning subsystems in distributed, cloud-based systems; ability to set technical direction and lead multi-engineer initiatives.
• Proficiency in a modern backend or systems language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#; hands-on cloud, containerization, and development infrastructure experience.
• Experience with test strategy and operational health; fluent use of AI code assistants, coding agents, and conversational AI for code and SDLC artifacts.

Nice to have

• Experience in ETL/ELT or cloud-based data platforms; metadata, catalog, lineage, or discovery/search systems.
• Experience with GraphQL APIs and high-throughput, multi-tenant data services; familiarity with analytics engineering and dbt.

Pay

$183,711 — $229,638.75 USD (target new-hire compensation; may include sales incentives or target bonuses depending on role)
