Staff Software Engineer, Metadata

What you'll do

• Lead complex, multi-engineer projects and own major subsystem architecture and delivery.
• Set design and code quality standards; review technical designs and coach and mentor engineers.
• Improve service reliability and performance, follow through on incidents, and participate periodically in on-call.

What they ask for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leading complex, team-scope technical work to completion.
• Deep expertise designing and owning subsystems in distributed, cloud-based systems; demonstrated ability to set technical direction and lead multi-engineer initiatives.
• Proficiency in a modern backend or systems language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#; hands-on cloud, containerization, and development infrastructure experience.
• Experience partnering with QE on test strategy and owning operational health; fluent use of AI coding assistants and agents and conversational AI for code and SDLC artifacts.

Nice to have

• Experience in data processing (ETL, ELT) and/or cloud-based data platforms; metadata, catalog, lineage, or discovery/search systems.
• Experience with GraphQL APIs and high-throughput, multi-tenant data services; familiarity with analytics engineering and the dbt ecosystem.

Pay

$196,033 — $245,041.50 USD (target new-hire compensation; may include sales incentives or target bonuses depending on role)
