About the job

Leads lipid nanoparticle (LNP) manufacturing and process development, scaling formulations for development and in vivo studies while managing a team of scientists and engineers.

What you'll do

  • Lead LNP scale-up from small R&D formulations to nonhuman primate (NHP) scale, including upstream and downstream process development.
  • Develop targeted LNPs and micro- to mid-scale formulations, and integrate analytical methods into process development.
  • Lead and mentor scientists and engineers and collaborate across departments to support in vivo studies.

What they ask for

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or biomedical engineering, plus relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience scaling nucleic acid LNP formulations across upstream, downstream, and analytics.
  • Working knowledge of mixing platforms and TFF, and familiarity with LNP analytical methods.
  • Understanding of lipid and LNP design, stability, critical product attributes, molecular biology, and nucleic acid therapeutics; experience managing and mentoring junior scientists.

Nice to have

  • Experience scaling in a GMP environment, managing CDMOs, or taking LNPs to the clinic, including agency interactions.
  • Experience with tLNP conjugation at scale, lipid synthesis, purification, and compositional analysis.
