What you'll do
- Model site-specific thermal inertia and operating headroom during load flexibility.
- Design cooling strategies—including setpoint changes, equipment staging, and storage—to support grid flexibility.
- Run instrumented field tests and compare measured results with models.
What they ask for
- Experience engineering mechanical or HVAC systems for data centers or industrial plants.
- Experience dynamically modeling thermal systems.
- Experience conducting field validation and reconciling models with measurements.
- Ability to quantify operating risk and work jointly with controls engineers.
Nice to have
- Liquid cooling.
- Dynamic simulation (Modelica, TRNSYS), CFD, thermal storage, or psychrometrics depth.
