About the job

Own the electrical design, integration, testing, and safety of power systems for high-speed thermofluids machines, including their motor drives, test benches, and installations.

What you'll do

  • Design the machine power path, including the DC bus, inverter, motor drive, and magnetic-bearing amplifiers; specify and integrate the high-speed hermetic motor drive.
  • Design test-bench and load-bank power and protection schemes, and resolve EMC, harmonic, bearing-current, and related electrical issues.
  • Own electrical safety in the test cell, including safe-work procedures and readiness for installation and operation.

What they ask for

  • 10+ years of experience in power electronics and motor drive design, including high-power converters, high-speed motor drives, and electrical safety for test and production systems.
  • Designed and commissioned a high-power converter or motor drive under real load.
  • Experience integrating a drive with a motor designed by another party and diagnosing resulting machine or shared-bus effects.
  • Regular travel of 25% or more, depending on business needs.

Nice to have

  • High-speed and magnetic-bearing drive systems; electric propulsion or aerospace power systems.
  • 800 V class DC architectures, SiC or GaN devices, or test-cell power and safe practices around energized work.
