About the job
Own structural analysis and design for turbomachinery and thermofluids equipment, taking pressure-containing and rotating hardware from calculations through testing and production.
What you'll do
- Analyze machine structures, including impeller and rotor stress, pressure containment, and packaged-unit load paths.
- Design containment cases, pressure-containing structures, and test-cell structures and fixturing.
- Perform rotordynamic and modal work with the turbomachinery engineer, including critical speeds, whirl, and magnetic-bearing interfaces.
What they ask for
- 10+ years of experience in structural analysis and design of rotating and pressure-containing hardware, including FEA, rotordynamics, and containment.
- Experience taking a pressure-containing design from calculation through fabrication.
- Experience correlating FEA of rotating hardware against strain-gauge, spin-pit, or test data.
- Comfort with regular travel; expect 25% or more, depending on business needs.
Nice to have
