Performs mechanical engineering analysis and simulation to validate designs and guide decisions for fusion systems and facility infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Conduct structural, thermal, fluid-system, vibration, stability, and dynamic analyses; validate results against requirements and operating conditions.
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings, and translate analysis results into design recommendations and risk mitigations.
- Plan verification activities, document analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to support design reviews and integration.
Nice to have
- Experience with structural, thermal, dynamic, and fluid-system analysis and FEA tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL.
- Knowledge of CFD tools, vacuum or cryogenic systems, laser or optical integration, scientific instrumentation, or DFMA.
