Own mechanical design, documentation, integration, and commissioning of robotic automation systems and assemblies, from concept through release and deployment.
What you'll do
- Design, prototype, test, and release automation systems and EOAT, including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and controlled revisions.
- Integrate and commission systems on the shop floor; troubleshoot failures and validate performance through testing and root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate project delivery and cross-functional improvements, incorporating field feedback into product design and preparing training and progress materials.
What they ask for
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, mechanical systems engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a related field; and 3+ years designing systems or equipment for industrial automation and robotics.
- Experience owning mechanical designs from concept through manufacturing release, including 3D assemblies, detailed drawings, component selection, and BOMs; strong 3D CAD proficiency.
- Strong drafting and GD&T skills; familiarity with industrial robotic systems, integration, and interfaces with automation components.
- Hands-on shop-floor capability; located in or willing to relocate to greater Chicago and work on-site; able to travel up to 25%.
Nice to have
- Experience designing and implementing robotic EOAT or end-of-line automation applications.
