About the job

Develops physics-based and data-driven simulation models and numerical solvers for automated metal 3D printing, integrating them with software, hardware, and specialized computing systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop high-performance numerical solvers and simulation models for metal 3D printing, targeting real-time or near-real-time execution on HPC and GPU platforms.
  • Integrate solvers into simulation pipelines and hardware systems, and guide computational geometry and meshing for large-scale simulations.
  • Collaborate on model-predictive control strategies and document algorithms, solvers, and integrated systems.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, physics, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing custom simulation solvers with a bachelor’s degree, 2+ years with a master’s degree, or a PhD in one of the listed fields in lieu of industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience writing low-level numerical solvers for physical simulations.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, or CUDA, and experience developing simulations in a high-performance compute environment such as GPUs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with real-time or near-real-time simulations on GPU or parallel computing platforms.
  • Experience with direct numerical simulation (DNS), thermo-elastic or thermo-elastoplastic modeling, computational geometry, meshing, or data-driven and hybrid simulation methods.
