About the job

Develops physics-based and data-driven simulation models and numerical solvers for automated metal 3D printing systems, integrating them into production and control pipelines.

What you'll do

  • Develop high-performance numerical solvers and simulation models for metal 3D printing, including execution on HPC, GPUs, or specialized hardware.
  • Integrate solvers and models into simulation pipelines and hardware systems, collaborating with software and control engineers.
  • Support computational geometry, meshing, model-predictive control, and documentation of algorithms and integrated systems.

What they ask for

  • Master's degree in applied mathematics, physics, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field; a PhD in one of these fields may substitute for industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience writing low-level numerical solvers for physical simulations.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, or CUDA.
  • Experience developing simulations in a high-performance compute environment, such as running on GPUs; familiarity with a physical modeling domain such as solid or continuum mechanics.

Nice to have

  • Experience with real-time or near-real-time GPU or parallel simulations, direct numerical simulation, or thermo-elastic/thermo-elastoplastic modeling.
  • Familiarity with computational geometry, meshing, data-driven or hybrid simulation methods, optimization, or control theory.
