About the job

Develops radiation diagnostics, transport simulations, shielding, and safety analysis for fusion facility operations and experiments.

What you'll do

  • Implement, optimize, and validate neutron and gamma diagnostic systems; analyze radiation data for experimental campaigns and operational safety.
  • Perform radiation-transport analysis and develop Monte Carlo simulations for particle transport, shielding, dose assessment, and detector performance.
  • Design radiation shielding, maintain radiation test environments, and support radiation dispersion and environmental safety assessments.

What they ask for

  • Master's or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in Monte Carlo particle-transport simulations using MCNP, Geant4, FLUKA, or similar tools; hands-on neutron and gamma detection experience.
  • Knowledge of radiation shielding, dose calculations, safety assessments, radiation metrology, and calibration techniques.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and programming using Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar tools; familiarity with CNSC, NRC, and IAEA standards.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in fusion/fission facilities or similar combined neutron-gamma radiation environments.
  • Background in high-energy neutron/gamma transport and shielding; knowledge of advanced radiation-detection technologies.

Tools

MCNP, Geant4, FLUKA, Python, MATLAB, C++, CNSC, NRC
