About the job

Designs and optimizes low-latency market-making systems for quote generation and order execution across trading venues.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain order-entry, market-data, risk-control, and quote-management systems; profile and optimize the tick-to-trade path.
  • Implement exchange connectivity and collaborate with traders and quantitative researchers on quoting logic, risk controls, and inventory management.
  • Maintain simulation and replay infrastructure, monitor live systems, and resolve latency and operational issues.

What they ask for

  • Strong proficiency in C++ (modern C++17/20 preferred), including reasoning about assembly output and compiler behavior.
  • Understanding of computer architecture, low-latency networking, exchange protocols, and Linux internals; demonstrated experience tuning production systems at the OS level.
  • Working knowledge of market microstructure and experience in systems where microsecond- or nanosecond-level performance was critical.
  • Strong debugging and profiling skills and communication skills for collaborating with trading personnel.

Nice to have

  • FPGA development (Verilog/VHDL); FPGA-based trading systems or programmable networking hardware.
  • Experience building or tuning matching engines or exchange-side systems; prior work at a market-making firm, HFT firm, or exchange technology vendor.

Tools

C++17/20, Linux, Solarflare/OpenOnload, DPDK, TCP/UDP, FIX, ITCH, OUCH
