Staff Applied Scientist

What you'll do

• Frame high-stakes healthcare and business problems, define objectives and success metrics, and select appropriate algorithmic approaches.
• Build, validate, ship, and improve production systems, including provider tiering, an LLM-based primary care experience, and member engagement models.
• Lead and mentor a small team, set technical direction, and review Applied Science methods across the company.

What they ask for

• 6+ years of industry experience in an Applied Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Research Scientist, or equivalent role; or 4+ years with a relevant advanced degree.
• Strong applied problem-solving skills, including defining metrics and delivering solutions that improve them.
• Technical judgment across statistical models, heuristics, optimization, and simpler algorithmic methods.
• Strong communication skills, including at the executive level, and a track record of driving organizational alignment.

Nice to have

• PhD (preferred).
• Formal management experience is welcome but not required.

Pay

$300,000-$390,000 USD base salary
