About the job

Research magnetic materials for future vehicle and manufacturing applications by combining computational modeling, experimental collaboration, materials characterization, and validation.

What you'll do

  • Plan and conduct collaborative magnetic-materials research, including modeling, processing, characterization, and validation.
  • Analyze relationships between materials composition, structure, processing, and magnetic performance to guide materials selection for GM applications.
  • Communicate research outcomes through reports, presentations, publications, and invention disclosures.

What they ask for

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a relevant field; must be graduating between August 2026 - June 2027.
  • Strong foundation in materials science, magnetism, and structure–property relationships; experience with magnetic materials and computational modeling and simulation.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming and data analysis using Python, C/C++, MATLAB, or similar languages.
  • Experience analyzing materials data and working in multidisciplinary research teams; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Ph.D. strongly preferred; experience in DFT/electronic-structure, atomistic or micromagnetic modeling, machine learning, materials informatics, or magnetic-property measurement.
  • Experience connecting computational predictions with experimental validation, publishing research, generating intellectual property, or applying insights to engineering or manufacturing.

Tools

Python, C/C++, MATLAB, DFT
