Engineering Director, Autonomous Cloud

What you'll do

• Define Autonomous Cloud technical strategy and accelerate agentic development, AI engineering, and agent-harness innovations.
• Oversee agent-platform integration and agent lifecycles; establish evaluation frameworks as quality gates.
• Build cross-organizational roadmaps and partner with Cloud AI and Google DeepMind to productionize research and scale agentic development.

What they ask for

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of software engineering experience building and working with large-scale systems in a technology organization.
• 5 years leading frontier-level AI, AI-Engineering, Agentic Engineering, Applied AI solutions, and ML-related technologies for real-world AI/ML problems.
• 5 years as a Software Engineering leader in ML Infrastructure, ML or AI for products, or related fields; experience with cross-functional technical innovation and leading organizational and technical transformations.

Nice to have

• Experience managing complex dependencies with research groups and cloud platform teams, and producing software products and large-scale distributed systems.
• Expertise in autonomous agent frameworks or cloud automation infrastructure at planet scale; Gen AI, ML products, agent frameworks and protocols, RAG, Prompt Engineering, or Evals.

$307000 - $427000 (USD) base salary
