Senior/Staff Backend Software Engineer - Data Platform

What you'll do

• Own the data platform architecture and roadmap, including ingestion, data models, shared infrastructure, and platform standards.
• Build and operate backend APIs and distributed data services, from design through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Build, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate AI coding agent teams.

What they ask for

• Core builder or technical owner of a data platform used by multiple teams or products, with experience making foundational platform decisions as it grows.
• Experience architecting and operating production backend systems and distributed systems, including concurrency, failure recovery, and safe migrations.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including deployment automation, monitoring, and secure access management; strong Python, SQL, API design, and database modeling skills.
• Experience developing ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines, and building and maintaining AI coding agent teams, including task delegation, context management, and evaluation.

Nice to have

• Early-stage startup experience with a concrete production deliverable; experience taking a data platform from early stage to scale or re-architecting one while keeping it running.

Pay

$184,000 – $284,000 Total (Base & bonus)
