About the job

Develops synthetic diagnostic and physics-grounded machine-learning models to interpret FRC plasma behavior and connect experimental signals with simulation outputs.

What you'll do

  • Develop and validate ML frameworks for FRC plasma dynamics and integrate them with simulation tools and experimental diagnostic pipelines.
  • Reproduce experimental plasma conditions in modeling workflows and create scripts to analyze and visualize model predictions against experiments.
  • Collaborate with physics and engineering experts and communicate results through reports, presentations, and technical visualizations.

What they ask for

  • PhD in Physics, Engineering, Applied Math, Computational Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with emphasis on physics-grounded modeling.
  • 3+ years of industry or research-lab experience applying machine learning in experimental, simulation-driven, or scientific R&D environments.
  • Expertise with physics-informed or physics-constrained ML methods and experience integrating ML with scientific-computing workflows, simulation tools, or experimental diagnostics.
  • Proficiency scripting for data parsing, model analysis, and visualization; familiarity with magnetic diffusion, circuit coupling, or plasma-dynamics modeling in pulsed-power or electromagnetics systems.

Nice to have

  • Fortran or HPC exposure.
