About the job

Designs and validates mechanical and electrical architectures, subsystems, and hardware configurations for UAV and autonomous platforms adapted to US customer requirements.

What you'll do

  • Adapt existing UAV mechanical and electrical designs and interfaces to customer specifications and regulatory requirements; own subsystem design and contribute to platform architecture.
  • Develop modular hardware concepts, conduct trade studies, integrate COTS/GOTS equipment, and design for manufacturing and field assembly.
  • Create CAD documentation and design specifications, then define and perform validation tests and troubleshooting.

What they ask for

  • Several years of mechanical and/or electrical design experience for UAV platforms, aerospace systems, or similar demanding applications.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D/2D CAD and PLM tools; SolidWorks/PDM or similar preferred.
  • Knowledge of modular design principles and WOSA or similar standards, plus experience integrating COTS/GOTS equipment into complex systems.

Nice to have

  • Professional experience with US defense customers and familiarity with US military specifications and standards.
  • Experience with UAV design, export controls, schematic/PCB design, EMC, actuators and sensors, battery systems, environmental testing, FEA, or airworthiness certification.

Tools

SolidWorks, PDM, WOSA, COTS/GOTS, ASME/ISO, GD&T, ECAD/MCAD
