About the job

Supports development of the LeLamp character robot through hands-on mechanical prototyping, controls and calibration work, integration testing, and model-behavior analysis.

What you'll do

  • Build and iterate on prototyping rigs; perform mechanical assembly, wiring, and basic controls integration.
  • Support controls and mechanical design through sensor wiring, calibration, test scripts, CAD iteration, and integration troubleshooting.
  • Run test cycles, document results, and explore model behavior using mechanistic interpretability techniques.

What they ask for

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Exposure to CAD and basic controls or embedded work.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, machining, microcontrollers, or simple test rigs.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to mechanistic interpretability or model-internals work, such as probing, activation patching, or sparse autoencoders.

Tools

SolidWorks, Onshape, Fusion360

AI focus

Explore mechanistic interpretability of the models behind LeLamp’s character and behavior, including probing and activation analysis, and characterize unexpected behaviors.
