- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Control, or a related field.
About the job
Uses physics simulation and reinforcement learning to evaluate robot designs and capabilities before hardware development, maintaining canonical robot models and informing platform decisions.
What you'll do
- Design and assess robot platforms using simulation and RL, including locomotion, manipulation, balance, and robustness.
- Own URDF models and maintain the CAD-to-URDF-to-simulation pipeline; develop evaluation tools and benchmarks.
- Provide quantitative hardware design feedback and collaborate with mechanical, control, and perception teams.
What they ask for
- Strong foundation in robot kinematics and dynamics.
- Experience with robot simulation environments, reinforcement learning in robotics or physics-based simulation, and URDF or similar formats.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Experience training RL locomotion or manipulation policies.
Nice to have
- Experience with legged, humanoid, or wheeled robots; whole-body control or torque-controlled robots; or simulation-driven hardware design.
- Experience building large-scale RL training pipelines.
