About the job

Develop and support safety-critical, real-time firmware for automotive ECUs, from board bring-up through production deployment.

What you'll do

  • Architect, develop, debug, and test embedded firmware, drivers, middleware, and RTOS configurations.
  • Integrate vehicle communication protocols and hardware interfaces; collaborate on board bring-up and component integration.
  • Develop test strategies, troubleshoot board- and vehicle-level issues, and support manufacturing tests and software deployment.

What they ask for

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years developing production embedded firmware in C/C++.
  • Experience with 32-bit ARM Cortex-M or similar automotive-grade microcontrollers, custom HAL/drivers/middleware, and bare-metal or lightweight RTOS platforms.
  • Working knowledge of safety-rated RTOS; CAN and LIN; SPI, I2C, and UART; Git, Linux, and hardware debugging tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with embedded systems from concept to production and safety-critical or fault-tolerant systems; familiarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety.
  • Modern C++ and/or Rust; Automotive Ethernet, TSN/gPTP, embedded security, MISRA C/C++, Python, safety-case methods, or responsible LLM use in firmware development.

Tools

C++, C/C++, 32-bit ARM Cortex-M, CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART

AI focus

The role may involve augmenting firmware development with LLMs. AI tools may also be used in interviews to compare applicants’ qualifications and experience; a human reviews the output and makes the final hiring decision.
