About the job

Own the electrical architecture of Impulse’s product line from concept through certification and production, including system interfaces, reliability, compliance, partner engineering, and the transition toward in-house design and manufacturing.

What you'll do

  • Define system architecture, requirements, interfaces, and platform reuse; lead electrical design reviews.
  • Own electrical reliability, certification, production test architecture, and technical coordination with JDM and CM partners.
  • Guide build-versus-buy decisions and develop internal engineering tools, including AI-assisted tooling.

What they ask for

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, or 8+ with an MS, designing electronics shipped at volume; at least two products taken from concept through mass production, with direct ownership of EVT/DVT/PVT gates, build support, and production test yield at ramp.
  • Demonstrated system-level architecture ownership, including partitioning, interface definition, and requirement flowdown; experience with BOM cost/COGS targets, cost-down, and second-sourcing.
  • Analog and mixed-signal expertise, embedded software fluency, and experience with EMC and product safety certification.
  • Experience with safety and compliance design, including mains isolation, creepage/clearance, and standards such as UL/IEC 60730; comfort using and building AI tools.

Nice to have

  • Battery systems, BMS, or energy storage integration; power electronics; induction heating, motor drive, or other high-power switching applications.
  • Platform or product-family architecture, consumer appliances, Python and SCPI scripting, or building in-house hardware capability.
