About the job

Characterizes, analyzes, and validates the dynamic behavior of liquid rocket propulsion systems using test data, analytical models, and dynamic testing.

What you'll do

  • Analyze engine development, qualification, and flight-test data to characterize structural response, detect anomalous behavior, and monitor hardware health.
  • Develop vibration environments, finite element models, and forcing functions to predict structural response, component environments, and interface loads.
  • Plan, analyze, and direct dynamic testing, process test data, and support propulsion stability and POGO analysis.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience with structural dynamics, vibration, or dynamic testing of high-performance systems.
  • Proficiency with at least one industry-standard structural FEA package and experience solving structural dynamics and vibration problems using analytical and numerical methods.
  • Experience processing dynamic test data and proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or similar applications; working knowledge of dynamic instrumentation and signal processing.

Nice to have

  • Graduate degree (MS / PhD) in a related field; experience with liquid rocket engines, propulsion systems, or launch vehicle development.
  • 6+ years hands-on experience with dynamic structural testing, or experience in vibration environments, finite element modeling, rotating machinery, propulsion stability, or POGO analysis.
