About the job

Leads structural analysis for spacecraft vehicle development, including finite element modeling, load and verification planning, and correlation with test and flight data.

What you'll do

  • Own and maintain global vehicle FEM models for static and dynamic analysis, including model requirements, fidelity, and load cases.
  • Assess structural performance and generate margins for metallic and composite structures using analytical methods and finite element analysis.
  • Develop reusable analysis workflows and verification plans; correlate models with test and flight data and investigate structural issues.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong fundamentals in solid mechanics, strength of materials, structural dynamics, vibration, fatigue, bolted joints, load paths, stiffness, and stability.
  • Experience building and running finite element models for complex mechanical or aerospace hardware (NASTRAN, FEMAP, or similar), and proficiency with CAD tools (NX or similar).
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or VBA for analysis and automation; experience analyzing structural loads and calculating margins for metallic and composite structures.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related field.
  • Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle hardware, structural qualification testing, or FEM correlation with test or flight data.

Pay
