About the job

Designs, builds, operates, and improves neutral-atom quantum computing systems through experimental research, subsystem development, and Python-based control and analysis.

What you'll do

  • Design, calibrate, operate, and improve quantum computing systems and subsystems; execute R&D involving processor hardware, gate protocols, lasers, calibration, and integration.
  • Plan and analyze experiments and physics-based models, translating technical goals into subsystem requirements and measurable targets.
  • Develop Python tools and own assigned subsystems through integration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and operation.

What they ask for

  • PhD in atomic, optical, AMO, quantum physics, or a related field, or at least four years of comparable research or professional experience.
  • Hands-on experimental experience with atomic, optical, quantum, or precision-measurement systems.
  • Experience applying quantitative atomic or optical physics models and hands-on experience with lasers and optical systems and related technologies.
  • Experience using Python for experiment control, data analysis, automation, or hardware integration; evidence of designing and analyzing experiments or developing an experimental subsystem.

Nice to have

  • Experience with neutral atoms, trapped ions, Rydberg physics, optical tweezers, quantum-gate protocols, or another coherent-control platform.
  • Experience with high-power or short-wavelength lasers, laser-noise characterization or mitigation, RF systems, imaging, subsystem integration, or collaborative software development.
