Principal Forward Deployed Engineer — AI-Native Invoicing

What you'll do

• Develop relationships with QuickBooks Influencers and observe their invoicing workflows in the field.
• Build and rapidly iterate on tailored AI-powered invoicing agents, automations, and workflows.
• Identify what can generalize from bespoke solutions and partner with product and engineering leaders to shape product capabilities.

What they ask for

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-embedded engineering role.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI/LLM application patterns, including agents, RAG, and tool use.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with accounting professionals and SMB owners.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to travel regularly.

Nice to have

• Experience serving small businesses through organizations such as a Chamber of Commerce, SBA, SCORE, or a trade association; or a background in SMB accounting, bookkeeping, or fintech software.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Intuit's developer platform, or invoicing/payments systems.

Pay

USD 261,500 - 353,500 base salary
