Performs risk-based audits of clinical documentation, coding, billing, and payment records to assess compliance, identify risks, and support internal and external audit activities.
What you'll do
- Audit records across professional, hospital, and specialty services for coding, billing, medical necessity, and documentation compliance.
- Identify and escalate compliance risks; maintain audit workpapers and prepare findings and recommendations.
- Support audit planning, external audit responses, and improvements to audit tools and workflows.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Health information management, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of progressive experience in coding, and or regulatory compliance auditing in a healthcare setting.
- One required certification upon hire: CPC, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CIC, or COC.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, payer regulations, and documentation and coding requirements; experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
Nice to have
- Provider-side and hospital-based documentation and coding audit experience.
