About the job
Provides security and safety for Jefferson’s North Region hospital and university locations through patrols, emergency response, incident reporting, and assistance to staff, patients, students, and visitors.
What you'll do
- Patrols assigned posts, buildings, grounds, and parking areas; checks identification and addresses security, fire, and safety concerns.
- Responds to service calls and emergencies, communicates conditions to supervisors, and helps resolve conflicts.
- Investigates and documents incidents, maintains patrol logs, and assists employees, patients, students, and visitors.

- High School Diploma/GED.
- Complete and maintain required Security Department training; understand responsibilities and technology associated with the 24-hour Security Response Center.
- Able to run one city block, physically subdue an unruly or violent individual, work in all weather, and work and rotate between all shifts.
- Lethal Weapons Certification - Pennsylvania State Police within 90 days.
Nice to have
- Associate’s Degree; related advanced training in Criminal Justice strongly preferred.
- 1 year experience in campus/hospital security, law enforcement, or other related Criminal Justice agencies strongly preferred.
