What you'll do

  • Lead flight-physics trade studies and design aerodynamic surfaces, propulsors, and flight trajectories within aircraft constraints.
  • Generate aerodynamic and aeroelastic models and adapt them for real-time simulation.
  • Specify and evaluate ground and flight tests to validate models, including system identification from flight-test data.

What they ask for

  • Advanced degree (PhD/MS/MEng) in a related discipline and 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Expert understanding of aerodynamic modeling techniques, including vortex lattice, nonlinear lifting line, blade element momentum, and CFD.
  • Experience specifying ground or flight test experiments; expert knowledge of aero-modeling technique selection and fixed-wing aircraft dynamics.
  • Proficiency with Python; experience with aeroelastic modeling (e.g. ASWING); working knowledge of aircraft guidance and control.
  • Must qualify as a “US Person” under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15.

Nice to have
