About the job

Own the mechanical design, validation, and project execution of a vacuum shell for a cryogenic liquid hydrogen storage tank, while contributing to broader hydrogen-storage hardware development.

What you'll do

  • Design the vacuum shell, including structural layout, interfaces, sealing, and manufacturability; release CAD models, drawings, and controlled documentation.
  • Plan and conduct tests to verify structural, thermal, and leak-tightness performance; support hardware builds, troubleshooting, and development testing.
  • Translate system requirements into mechanical designs, perform calculations and trade studies, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and test teams.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of mechanical engineering experience in aerospace, energy, cryogenics, or other high-performance hardware environments.
  • Fundamentals in solid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials behavior; ability to perform hand calculations and use basic FEA or thermal analysis tools.
  • Experience with 3D CAD and engineering drawing release; familiarity with precision machining, fabrication, and tolerance stack-ups.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cryogenic systems or liquid hydrogen applications.
  • Exposure to vacuum systems, high-performance seals, or cryogenic-compatible materials.
