Big Data AWS Sr Manager of Software Engineering

What you'll do

• Manage and coach 8–10 software engineers across multiple teams; guide platform strategy and modernization.
• Lead design and delivery of secure, scalable microservices and near-real-time streaming systems on AWS, and advance engineering practices for reliability, CI/CD, and observability.
• Scale governed AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation, with measurable outcomes and controls for quality, security, and responsible use.

What they ask for

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience, plus 2+ years leading technologists.
• Strong matrixed management experience and hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience building scalable Java microservices and leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, including governance and secure handling of sensitive data.
• AWS cloud-native experience, hands-on Kafka, Kinesis, and Flink stream processing, and knowledge of CI/CD, resiliency, security, and source control.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience in high-volume Flink processing.
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, Spring frameworks, recommendation or personalization systems, or financial services.
