About the job
Leads the design, operation, and adoption of a low-latency event streaming and WAL replication platform, including migration of data warehouse synchronization from batch processes to a unified streaming pipeline.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and operate the replication and streaming platform, defining delivery guarantees, performance and correctness contracts, and operational recovery.
- Lead the batch-to-streaming warehouse synchronization migration and promote event-driven design practices across engineering.
- Set technical standards through design and code reviews, mentor senior engineers, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
What they ask for
- 10+ years of production engineering experience, specializing in real-time data infrastructure and event streaming systems.
- Production experience designing and operating WAL-based or log-structured replication systems or equivalent CDC frameworks at scale.
- Experience leading batch-to-streaming migrations and deep understanding of streaming correctness, delivery semantics, and failure recovery.
- Fluency in a systems-level language (Rust, Go, or C/C++) used in production.
Nice to have
- Experience with open table formats and streaming integrations with analytical query engines.
- Experience with PostgreSQL WAL internals, streaming runtimes, AWS data infrastructure, or regulated domains.
