What you'll do
- Design PICs and high-speed modulators, including optical I/O, RF interfaces, and bias and tuning control; carry designs through tapeout and review.
- Develop package components and interfaces, coordinating with systems, RF, ASIC, test, manufacturing, foundry, and packaging teams.
- Plan and lead characterization and environmental qualification, including radiation, thermal-vacuum, and vibration testing.
What they ask for
- PhD or MS in electrical engineering, optics, physics, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
- PIC designs taken through tapeout on a commercial integrated photonics platform, with fabricated devices characterized in the lab.
- Hands-on chip-boundary work in optical I/O design with fiber attach or packaging, or high-speed modulator and RF design measured with a VNA.
- Experience with photonic device simulation, layout tools, and Python for automation and data analysis.
Nice to have
- 3D mechanical CAD for package parts or fixtures, or radiation, thermal-vacuum, or vibration testing of photonic or electronic devices.
