About the job

Build and own automated photonic integrated circuit (PIC) testing systems and software, from initial device characterization through production screening, including integration with free-space optical testbeds.

What you'll do

  • Design automated wafer-, die-, and module-level PIC test stations and characterize photonic devices.
  • Develop Python test automation, instrument drivers, and shared data pipelines; connect PIC stations with free-space optical testbeds.
  • Establish design-for-test and lab standards, support environmental testing, and scale test processes for production.

What they ask for

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, optics, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience testing photonic integrated circuits or optoelectronic components.
  • Experience building automated test stations from scratch using Python for instrument control, test frameworks, and data analysis.
  • Hands-on free-space optics experience, including alignment and beam characterization.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a related field.
  • Experience integrating free-space optical setups into automated test, or with high-speed electro-optic characterization, environmental testing, or production test.
