About the job

Develop and validate safety methods for autonomous trucking systems, including identifying failure modes, analyzing risk, and shaping system design and testing.

What you'll do

  • Write C++ to search high-dimensional failure spaces and identify system weaknesses.
  • Perform hazard analysis, risk assessments, and fault tree analysis to inform safety cases and design decisions.
  • Lead or support simulation, track, on-road, and hardware-in-the-loop testing of safety claims.

What they ask for

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field.
  • Deep understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and system modeling; strong foundation in probability and statistics.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
  • Safety analysis methodologies including FTA, FMEA, or HARA; safety-critical standards and fault-tolerant design knowledge.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on work in at least one of sensor fusion and object tracking, machine learning, computer vision, motion planning, or control systems.
  • Experience with redundancy strategies and fault-tolerant system design.
