What you'll do

  • Define server thermal architecture, cooling budgets, and trade-offs across performance, power, acoustics, cost, and serviceability.
  • Analyze and validate designs through simulation and testing; write test plans and document results.
  • Resolve thermal issues during prototyping, manufacturing, and field operation, and develop design processes and qualification criteria.

What they ask for

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience, preferably server design.
  • Experience with CFD tools to predict server operating performance; modeling and testing skills to validate designs.
  • Familiarity with fan speed control algorithms and tuning methods.
  • Experience defining server liquid-cooling requirements and knowledge of coolant quality, material compatibility, corrosion prevention, leak detection, and serviceability.

Nice to have

  • Coding skills such as Matlab, Python, or Java to automate data collection and report generation.
  • Knowledge of computer firmware code and algorithms that set operating points and fault conditions.

Tools
