About the job

Design and validate advanced semiconductor and photonics packages for AI and high-performance computing systems, optimizing mechanical, optical, thermal, assembly, and reliability performance.

What you'll do

  • Create package-stack-up CAD models, perform mechanical design and tolerance analyses, and produce GD&T drawings.
  • Identify mechanical failure modes, conduct FMEAs, and guide design choices using manufacturing and cost considerations.
  • Manage prototype builds with vendors and collaborate with package and systems teams to validate designs and meet system requirements.

What they ask for

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience in semiconductor packaging, optoelectronics, or photonics modules.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or Creo and expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies, including mechanical and thermal trade-offs of 3D, 2.5D, and FCBGA architectures.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Working knowledge of FEA tools such as ANSYS or Abaqus; experience with photonic alignment, advanced thermal architectures, or high-volume manufacturing is also valued.
